Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status through his pop-folk songs based on folk, most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a native of New Mexico. singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's anthems for his adopted state have drawn many to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared it was because John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many across the globe. When I travel, I always come across someone on the opposite side of the world one who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm of Colorado and the first thing they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief career performing in small folk groups was Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version of the song and realized it would become one of the Top 10 hits. The song was recorded by the singer only a few days afterward after performing it to crowds of enthusiastic fans in Washington D.C.
