Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained prominence after the release of her first album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number in 1994. The album was Gold when she was just 15 years old. The collaboration was strongly in the style of R. Kelly, and put the singer in the spotlight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri as well as Timbaland in her sophomore studio album One In A Million, featuring the number one hit song If Your Girl only knew. Following the debut of the album Aaliyah received international recognition for her performance as an R&B performer. Aaliyah was a part of the famous martial artist Jet-Li Romeo Must Die (2000) which was an action-packed romantic film. She is a first-generation Indian-American born in Connecticut. The stage name Mann is an abbreviation for her married name Mankad. She uses Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for professional names. While she started out by playing minor film and television parts, her acting career started to gain speed in the late 2000s. Some of her other notable work include Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. In addition, she has appeared in important commercials for brands like Volvo the world's largest auto producer. The mother of her daughter who lives in Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
