Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines soul gospel with R&B in a distinct mix. She's appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. Although she's located in Atlanta but her origins are from Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to grow as musician through playing guitar and singing in church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship at the heart of Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You the House was only released in Japan. It has been remixed many times, and has become a staple of her live show. Her voice was also added on the soundtrack to The Fighting Temptations. Her role was as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as Choral Director of Dreamgirls which was a stage production that was part of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine came to national attention during four daily performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was eventually invited to sing for President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
